IndexUniverse.eu is a publication focused on financial indices, index funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and investment using index-based strategies. Our news, comment and feature articles are targeted at a European audience. We aim to be educational, thought-provoking and rigorously independent in our perspective.
IndexUniverse.eu also publishes the Journal of Indexes Europe, a bimonthly print publication devoted to the latest trends in financial indexing.
We run Europe’s leading conferences on ETFs and indexing, held annually, as well as regular in-depth webinars on ETF- and index-related topics.

Jim founded Index Universe in 1999 with a vision of creating the central hub for information and analysis on indices, index funds and ETFs. That year he acquired The Journal of Index Issues from Dow Jones and transformed the publication into a fully independent journal with broad support from the index industry.

He has contributed chapters to two books: ETFs and Index Fundsand Collateral Damage.
Paul was named investment journalist of the year at the State Street 2012 institutional press awards. Before switching to journalism, Paul worked as a financial analyst, trader, and fund manager for Schroders, Cargill, ING and Insight. He also spent two years in the mid-1990s as an adviser to the Ukrainian Minister of Finance.
Paul graduated from Cambridge University with a first-class degree in Russian and French in 1986 and has a Master of Studies from Oxford University. He has professional qualifications in investment analysis and fund management and has passed the examined components of the Certificate in Quantitative Finance.
